Providing regular, high-quality professional supervision and annual Performance Development Reviews (PDRs) to ensure staff adhere to Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) codes of practice. Managing a delegated budget and ensuring the efficient use of resources like CareFirst (the primary social work information system) and Pyramid (for performance monitoring). Acting as a key decision-maker in safeguarding processes, ensuring that statutory duties under the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 are met. Providing leadership on high-profile or complex cases involving the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act and Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act. Identifying, managing, and escalating organizational and individual risks. This includes ensuring staff are trained in risk assessment and health and safety. Working closely with health practitioners (nurses, GPs, OTs) to provide seamless "joined-up" care. Building relationships with external providers, including the voluntary sector and private care homes, to ensure service availability in rural localities. Contributing to the HSCP's goal of reducing emergency hospital admissions and facilitating "delayed discharge" (helping people move from hospital back to community care safely). Ensuring all team activities meet the national standards set by the Care Inspectorate and Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS). Using data to monitor team performance, timeliness, and responsiveness to improve the "customer journey."
