About the role

Key Responsibilities * Lead learning activities and deliver lessons to individuals, small groups, or whole classes under the direction of the teacher. * Support pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development. * Plan, prepare, and adapt learning resources to meet the needs of all learners. * Provide targeted interventions to help pupils achieve learning objectives. * Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers. * Promote positive behaviour and maintain a productive learning environment. * Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and implement individual support plans. * Cover classes in the absence of the teacher when required. * Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies. * Contribute to the planning, evaluation, and development of teaching and learning activities across the school. Person Specification * Experience working with primary-aged children in a school setting. * Good English and Maths skills. * Strong communication and relationship-building skills. * Patient, caring, and able to engage and support pupils. * Organised, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team. * Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing. Desirable * Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or training. * Experience supporting pupils with SEND. * Knowledge of the primary curriculum. * Experience delivering interventions or small-group support. * First aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training). * Commitment to ongoing professional development.
