Senior Freight Operations Coordinator

Our client is a well-established European trailer operator and Freight forwarder, a market leader in the provision of European logistics services to a large number of very substantial manufacturers, importers and exporters both in the UK and in Europe We are now looking for a Senior Freight Operations Coordinator to work at our clients office in St Albans Your role will involve * Organising the movement of freight across Europe and the UK. * Communicating accurately in written and verbal form complex instructions to both Customers and Suppliers. * Negotiating with both Customers and Suppliers to achieve most cost-effective solution. * Providing the highest standards of Customer service. * Processing Customer orders through use of the bespoke in-house" operating system with an emphasis on attention to detail. * Compiling customs documentation to facilitate shipment of our client's freight into and from Europe. * Building very strong relationships with our clients, principally through verbal engagement. * Communicating with colleagues in different departments to ensure internal procedures are followed correctly. In order to apply for this role, you will have * Experience in road freight, international transport or logistics * Excellent communication skills (Written & Verbal) * A professional, positive and helpful attitude. * Commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate directly with clients and suppliers and identify and exploit opportunities to increase both turnover and more importantly profit. * Presentable, energetic and enthusiastic. * Strong organisational skills with an excellent memory. Salary and Benefits * Salary £34,000 to £40,000 * Pension * 22 Days holiday to start
