About the role

Lead QA Engineer (Scotland & North region)

£55,500 to £65,500 + up to 6% bonus + company car* (subject to business mileage)

Scotland & North region (Hubs: Aberdeen & Livingston)

Working pattern: Hybrid (on-site minimum 3 days a week). Some flexibility for home working may be available, where appropriate.

Travel: Regular within region, including central hubs in Aberdeen & Livingston.

Location requirement: Based within the Scotland & North region and within a reasonable traveling distance of operational sites.

About The Role

Help ensure the safe, high-quality delivery of critical energy infrastructure projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide independent quality assurance and expert guidance across projects of varying size and complexity
  • Lead quality assurance audits
  • Review and approve project quality, inspection and test plans
  • Evaluate contractor competence and compliance
  • Investigate non-conformances and identify corrective actions
  • Support commissioning, operational and asset acceptance activities
  • Ensure process safety and CDM requirements are met
  • Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement

About You

You’ll be an experienced engineer with a strong background in quality assurance, auditing and project delivery. You’ll be confident influencing stakeholders, resolving technical issues and improving quality standards across complex projects. If you enjoy solving problems, driving improvements and helping deliver critical infrastructure safely, this could be the role for you.

Essential

Key requirements & experience

  • HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
  • Significant experience within mechanical, civil, and rotating machinery disciplines
  • Incorporated Engineer status or working towards
  • Experience in engineering quality assurance and auditing
  • Knowledge of design, safety, environmental and quality standards
  • Experience investigating non-conformances and root cause analysis
  • Understanding of CDM and process safety requirements
  • Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001 and/or ISO 27001)
  • Experience within gas, energy or major infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of T/PM/G35 commissioning and asset acceptance processes
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
