Senior Design Manager – London & South Reports to Technical Director Location Hybrid – Kent office and site split Salary up to £100,000 + Travel Allowance, Private Healthcare, Pension & Bonus Job Purpose A leading main contractor is looking for a Senior Design Manager to take ownership of design delivery across multiple industrial and commercial projects in the London and South region. You will manage the full design process from tender handover through to project completion, making sure designs are coordinated, compliant, and delivered to programme. The role combines office-based planning with regular site visits, working closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams. The aim is simple: keep projects moving smoothly, reduce risk, and ensure consistent, high-quality design across all schemes. Key Responsibilities • Lead design development from tender stage through to completion • Ensure all designs meet legal, technical, and client requirements • Manage design risk and support value engineering opportunities • Maintain programme-critical design dates to protect site starts • Oversee design change control and assess programme impact • Keep clear and accurate records of all design information • Work closely with commercial, procurement, bid, and delivery teams • Coordinate external consultants and subcontractors • Support and guide Design Managers within the team What You’ll Be Working On • Large-scale industrial and commercial projects across Berkshire and the South • Multiple live and pre-construction schemes running through to 2027 • Fast-moving projects requiring strong coordination and decision-making What We’re Looking For • Experience in a Senior Design Manager role with a main contractor • Strong understanding of RIBA Stages 3–6 • Ability to lead design teams and manage multiple projects • Good communication and problem-solving skills • CSCS card and full UK driving licence What You’ll Get • £80,000 – £100,000 salary depending on experience • Bonus, travel allowance, private healthcare, pension • Strong pipeline of secured work • Clear long-term career progression • Real influence over project delivery To Apply Interested?
