Engineering Manager
We are an employee-owned manufacturing business with a strong heritage of innovation and sustainability. The company is a leading producer of specialist coated paper and film products supplied to customers across multiple industries worldwide.
As Engineering Manager, you will lead the engineering function to maximise plant reliability, efficiency, and safety. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement, implementing effective maintenance strategies, and leading a high-performing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a preventative maintenance strategy to minimise downtime and optimise asset performance
* Lead, coach, and develop a multi-skilled engineering team to ensure strong performance and engagement
* Manage engineering budgets, contractors, and procurement activities to support cost-effective operations
* Drive optimisation of the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) to improve maintenance planning and asset reliability
* Collaborate with operations teams on continuous improvement initiatives and production targets
* Lead capital expenditure projects and planned shutdown activities through to successful completion
* Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and ISO standards
About You
* Strong electrical and control systems expertise gained within a manufacturing environment
* Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an engineering management role in manufacturing
* Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including PLCs and machine control systems
* Experience managing engineering budgets, including consumable and capital expenditure
* Proficient in CMMS administration and Microsoft Office applications
* Proven ability to lead multifunctional teams and deliver operational improvements
* HND or Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline
* TPM/Autonomous Maintenance experience desirable; Lean manufacturing experience advantageous
* IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent safety qualification desirable
Salary: Approximately £60,000 per year (depending on experience)
