PMLD Teaching Assistant

PMLD Teaching Assistant Burnham ASAP Start | £90–£110 per day Supply Desk is working in partnership with a specialist school in Burnham to recruit a compassionate and reliable PMLD Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and additional complex needs, helping them access education in a safe, supportive, and structured environment. The Role As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide tailored support to pupils with complex learning, physical, and communication needs. Key responsibilities include: Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with PMLD Assisting with personal care routines in line with care plans and safeguarding procedures Supporting pupils with sensory activities, communication systems, and therapeutic programmes Promoting engagement, independence, and emotional wellbeing Supporting the delivery of structured learning activities Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals Ensuring a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment at all times Requirements Experience supporting children or young people with PMLD or complex needs (school, care, or SEND setting) A patient, caring, and adaptable approach Confidence supporting personal care and medical needs where required Strong communication and teamwork skills A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing Availability to start immediately Ability to travel to Burnham What We Offer Competitive daily pay between £90–£110, depending on experience Ongoing and long-term support opportunities Guidance and support from experienced, local education consultants Access to CPD and training, including safeguarding, SEND awareness, and behaviour support 24/7 CPD Learning Hub to support professional development Opportunity to work in supportive specialist and SEND settings How to Apply If you are a PMLD Teaching Assistant available to start ASAP in the Burnham area, we would be keen to hear from you.
