Highways Clerk of Works

We are currently looking for a Highways Clerk of Works. You will be working in Hammersmith. Monday - Friday 09:00am - 17:00pm Temp Contract - Ongoing Day rate - £300per day umbrella Job Purpose * To supervise contractors and oversee all construction activities, ensuring compliance with the Street-smart Design Guide, work orders, drawings, specifications, highway construction standards, and Project Engineers’ instructions. * To ensure compliance by verifying that all construction activities meet relevant environmental and construction regulations, as well as local permitting requirements. * To ensure quality control through regular inspections of materials, workmanship, and construction processes, maintaining high standards throughout the project. * To ensure health and safety measures are implemented and enforced, with all on-site safety protocols followed to maintain a safe working environment for construction workers and the public. * To ensure traffic management at work sites is correctly implemented, maintaining full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, and Traffic Management Act 2004. * To manage traffic signs and carriageway markings within all works, ensuring compliance with Traffic Management Orders, Department for Transport regulations, and the Street-smart Design Guide. * To attend public highway work sites daily and conduct site surveys and inspections in live traffic environments, in accordance with NRSWA 1991, the Traffic Management Act, and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, as directed by line management. * To meet with developers when necessary to ensure compliance with the Highways Act in the construction of their works and to assess their requirements.
