Location:Burnley, Lancashire (On-site)
Salary:£115 per day - £168.80 per day
Working Hours:08:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday
Contract Type:12-Month Fixed Term ContractStart Date:ASAP
Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Intervention Teacher to join our Alternative Provision team in Burnley. This specialised role focuses on delivering targeted 1:1 academic and emotional support to pupils who require a tailored approach outside of the standard classroom environment. You will work directly on the school site to bridge learning gaps and re-engage students with their education through personalised learning plans.
Detailed Responsibilities
The successful candidate will deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition sessions in core subjects like English and Maths while utilising trauma-informed teaching strategies to build strong rapport with students who have SEMH or ASC needs. You will be responsible for monitoring pupil progress closely and adjusting learning pathways to ensure 12 months of sustained academic growth. Collaboration is key, as you will work alongside the SENCO and external agencies to implement Education, Health and Care Plans in a nurturing, structured environment.
Requirements
Applicants must hold Degree or HLTA Quolified or have equivalent professional teaching experience, particularly within an Alternative Provision or SEN setting. You must be able to commit to the fixed working hours of 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and possess strong behaviour management skills paired with a non-judgemental approach. An enhanced DBS on the update service is required for this position, though we can assist with a new application if necessary.
