Contract: Full-time, Term-time onlyWe are currently working with a popular secondary school in the borough of Ealing who are seeking a caring and proactive Pastoral Support worker to join their team in September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with secondary school experience looking to make a positive impact in a secondary setting.
The Role
As a Pastoral Support worker, you will work as part of the schools inclusion and student personal development and pastoral team. The role is to support students to overcome barriers to learning, improve achievement, progress and develop the student’s character and conduct to help them fulfil their potential as a learner.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting the pastoral team in personal development of students towards values, character strengths, attitudes and behaviour
To communicate with the appropriate members of the school, including tutors and the SEN department so that strategies and targeted learning can be actioned.
Supporting students with social, emotional, and wellbeing needs, and signposting additional help where required.
Meeting with parents, carers, and external agencies to discuss student progress or concerns.
Assisting with behaviour monitoring, attendance tracking, and record keeping.
Contributing to whole-school initiatives that support inclusion and student wellbeing.
Working collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure consistent pastoral support across the year groups.The school are looking for a pastoral support office with the following:
Experience working in a secondary school or other educational setting.
Pastoral or student support experience is essential.
An empathetic, patient approach with the ability to communicate confidently with young people.
