Mechanical Fitter 📍 Trafford, Manchester 💷 From £17.50 per hour + Overtime 🕒 39 hours per week 📅 Monday - Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm | Friday: 7:30am - 1:30pm 📄 Temp to Perm Opportunity (Permanent after 13 weeks) ES Recruit are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering company based in Trafford. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with experience repairing and refurbishing industrial mechanical equipment to work across varied site and workshop-based projects. The company provides specialist services including on-site machining, workshop engineering support, fabrications, and mechanical maintenance across a range of industrial environments. The Role As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs, refurbishment, and maintenance on industrial gearboxes and mechanical plant process equipment. The role will involve both workshop and on-site work, requiring a hands-on engineer with strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability. Key Responsibilities Repair and refurbish industrial gearboxes and mechanical plant equipment Carry out on-site mechanical fitting and maintenance work Assist with fabrication and modification projects Support sub-contract machining operations Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs Ensure all work is completed to high quality and safety standardsRequirements Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter Strong background in gearbox repair and mechanical refurbishment Experience working on industrial plant/process equipment Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Flexible approach to site-based work and overtime when required Full UK driving licence preferredWhat's on Offer Competitive pay from £17.50 per hour Overtime opportunities available Early finish every Friday Temp-to-perm opportunity after 13 weeks Varied and interesting engineering projects Opportunity to develop skills within a specialist engineering environment If you're a skilled Mechanical Fitter looking for your next opportunity in a busy and supportive engineering team, apply today
