School Caretaker / Stoke-on-Trent / ASAP / Fixed-Term Contract Are you a practical, reliable, and hands-on individual looking for your next opportunity within a school environment? Academics are currently working with a secondary school in the Stoke-on-Trent area who are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to join their Site and Facilities Team on a full-time temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with maintenance, caretaking, or handyman experience who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. The Role General maintenance and repair tasks across the school site Basic plumbing, painting, and DIY work as required Setting up rooms and equipment for school events and activities Conducting routine site checks and ensuring health and safety standards are maintained Opening and securing school buildings as part of the shift rota Supporting the wider site team with facilities management duties Working Hours This is a full-time position operating on a weekly rotating shift pattern: 7:00am - 3:00pm 8:00am - 4:00pm 10:30am - 6:30pmThe role is expected to last approximately 2-3 months, with an immediate start needed. Requirements Have previous caretaking, site management, facilities, maintenance, or handyman experience Ideally have previous experience working within a school environment Be confident carrying out general repairs and maintenance tasks Be flexible and willing to work the rotating shift pattern Have a proactive and reliable approach to work Ideally already have an Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service Why Work with Academics?
