About the role
Due to expansion into a larger Workshop space we are looking to add an additional experienced Mot tester to our close knit team, we are a family owned friendly business working with local customers and businesses in Loughborough.
Must hold a full Uk driving licence, tools and Live mot card. You must have the right to work in the uk as there is NO possibility of a work sponsorship for this role.
Mot tetser
Monday - Friday NO WEEKENDS 8.30 - 17.30 starting salary £37,000 plus bonus for the right candidate. Company nights out, lunch bought on pay day and extended time off over Christmas. We are very flexible and family oriented.
The successful Mot teser will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards, ensuring vehicles meet required safety and environmental criteria. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive maintenance and a keen eye for detail to contribute to vehicle safety and compliance.
Responsibilities of the Mot tetser
* Conduct thorough MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models, adhering strictly to legal and safety standards.
* Inspect key vehicle components including brakes, suspension, lights, tyres, and exhaust systems.
* Identify any defects or issues that may cause the vehicle to fail the MOT test and communicate findings clearly to customers or management.
* Complete all necessary documentation accurately and maintain detailed records of each inspection.
* Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained regularly for optimal performance.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during testing procedures.
* Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks when required, including minor repairs or adjustments.
Skills for an Mot Tester
* Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of vehicle systems and components.
* Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers efficiently.
* Experience with power tools relevant to automotive inspection and repair tasks.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicles or parts during inspections or repairs.
* Excellent attention to detail to identify potential issues accurately during tests.
* Good organisational skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
* Effective communication skills to explain findings clearly to colleagues or customers. This position is ideal for individuals committed to maintaining high safety standards within the automotive industry, possessing practical mechanical skills, and eager to develop further expertise in vehicle testing
