Early Years Practitioner

Early Years Practitioner  Location: Camden  Contract: Locum – Initial 3 months Hours: 36 hours per week (shift pattern between 8am – 6pm) Pay: £20.20 per hour (Umbrella) (£15.57 PAYE exclusive) About the Role Camden Council is currently recruiting Early Years Practitioners to join their childcare settings on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality early education and care to children from birth to 7 years, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality childcare and early education in a safe, stimulating environment Support planning and delivery of engaging activities tailored to children’s individual needs Carry out observations, assessments, and maintain accurate developmental records Promote children’s learning, development, and wellbeing Support children with additional needs, including implementing targeted interventions Provide personal care including feeding, toileting, and hygiene Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other professionalsAbout You We are looking for candidates who: Have experience working in an early years or nursery setting Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework Are confident in observing, assessing, and tracking children’s development Have a caring, proactive, and flexible approach Can work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentWhat’s on Offer Opportunity to work with Camden Council, a well-established local authority Supportive team environment Valuable experience within a structured early years setting Immediate start availableThis is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children’s early development within a vibrant and inclusive setting.
