Contract: 12 months
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite

We are recruiting experienced Senior Java Low-Latency Developers to design and develop high-performance trading, exchange connectivity and Direct Market Access platforms.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role focused on building resilient, scalable and latency-sensitive systems using Core Java / JDK 17+, microservices, distributed systems and event-driven architecture.

Essential experience:

Strong hands-on Core Java development, preferably JDK 17+.

Proven experience building low-latency, high-throughput trading, order management or market connectivity platforms.

Deep knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, memory management, garbage collection, JVM tuning and mechanical sympathy.

Strong experience with performance profiling, throughput optimisation and scalable distributed architectures.

Hands-on experience with microservices, asynchronous processing, messaging and event-driven integration.

Experience with automated testing, performance testing, Agile and CI/CD.

Approximately 10+ years' technology experience, including significant experience within Financial Services.

Desirable experience:

FIX Protocol and binary exchange protocols

Direct Market Access (DMA), electronic trading and exchange connectivity

High-performance messaging, caching and non-blocking processing

Latency measurement and performance optimisation

Cloud-native technologies and container platforms

Observability and modern DevOps tooling

GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted engineering tools

Technical architecture, engineering standards and governance

Candidates must be able to work 3 days per week onsite in London.
