This specific 5-month freelance role spans the peak winter installation window. * Winter Progression & H&S: Actively manage site progress during challenging winter conditions. Enforce uncompromising health and safety compliance, method statements (RAMS), and daily site permit-to-work systems.
* Quality Assurance: Oversee strict compliance with technical specifications for high-voltage GIS asset enclosures, managing inspection test plans (ITPs), sign-offs, and progressive handover files.
* Site Logistics: Coordinate logistics and material drops in accordance with the project's strict Construction Logistics Plan (CLP). Utilise the DataScope DMS booking system for deliveries via the designated Cefn Gwrgan Road control points and Tata Steel access boundaries.
* Environmental & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to local council parameters, Considerate Constructors Scheme guidelines, and strict site-waste segregation rules.
* Reporting: Maintain detailed daily site diaries, progress reports, allocation sheets, and digital quality checks using the project's integrated digital management tools.
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential:
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) & CSCS Black Card (Manager level).
* NVQ Level 6
* First Aid at Work (valid certification).
* Proven track record as a Site Manager delivering large-scale commercial building envelopes, industrial cladding, or structural roofing packages.
* Understanding of high-risk site regulations and complex subcontractor coordination.
* Local proximity to the Port Talbot / Neath area or a reasonable daily commute.
Desirable:
* Proficiency in QA digital site platforms (e.g., Field View, DataScope DMS)
