Commercial Manager – Bedfordshire – Highways – £Negotiable + Package

Are you ready to take the next step with the opportunity to take commercial responsibility for around £100m of highways work while the projects are a mixture of ECI and construction stage?

I’m working with a major civil engineering contractor looking for a Commercial Manager to oversee significant Local Authority highways schemes in Bedfordshire, giving you the chance to influence how they are commercially set up well before construction gets fully underway.

You’ll lead the commercial function across both projects, working closely with the client, operational teams and supply chain from ECI through delivery and ultimately final account. Alongside managing and developing the commercial team, you’ll have overall responsibility for financial performance, procurement strategy, change, risk and ensuring the projects are managed properly under the NEC form of contract.

There’s a bigger picture to this role too. The division is exceptionally busy, with long-term frameworks and a substantial pipeline of infrastructure work already secured, so these two schemes aren’t the end of the story. It’s a good opportunity for someone who wants local continuity but also wants to join a business where there is plenty of scope to take on larger responsibilities as the division continues to grow.

They’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager, or potentially a strong Managing Quantity Surveyor ready for the next move, with a background in highways or major civil engineering.
