HR Manager
• Warrington
• Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

A leading employee-owned business within the commercial interior design and fit-out sector is seeking a standalone HR Manager to join their head office in Warrington. The organisation delivers end-to-end workplace design and build solutions and is recognised for its strong culture, collaborative approach, and commitment to employee ownership.
This is a broad, hands-on HR generalist role reporting into senior leadership, responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle and providing day-to-day HR support across the business. The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact for all HR matters, partnering closely with managers and supporting the continued development of a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking for autonomy in a standalone role, with exposure across all areas of HR including employee relations, recruitment, payroll coordination, compliance, and HR operations within a growing and values-led organisation.
Key responsibilities of the HR Manager:
HR Generalist / Employee Relations
• Act as the first point of contact for HR queries from managers and employees
• Provide advice and guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment law
• Manage employee relations cases, including investigations and outcomes (with external support where required)
• Coach and support managers in handling people-related issues effectively
Employee Lifecycle Management
• Oversee the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to exit
• Prepare contracts, onboarding documentation, and employee correspondence
• Deliver HR inductions and ensure a smooth onboarding experience
• Support performance management processes and employee development activities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
• Advertise vacancies and manage candidate screening processes
• Coordinate interviews and liaise with hiring managers and external recruiters
• Support attraction strategies including sourcing and headhunting where required
• Assist with apprenticeship and early careers programmes
HR Operations & Payroll Support
• Collate and process payroll information for external payroll providers
• Support pension administration and employee benefits coordination
• Manage HR system data and ensure accurate employee records
• Ensure compliance with Right to Work and other statutory requirements
HR Administration & Projects
• Maintain HR documentation and employee records
• Support training coordination and record keeping
• Contribute to ongoing HR process improvements and ad hoc projects
• Support the implementation of efficient HR systems and processes
Key requirements for the HR Manager:
• Experience in a standalone HR Generalist or HR Manager role
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Experience managing employee relations cases end-to-end
• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
• Experience across recruitment, onboarding, and HR operations
• CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) desirable
• Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Full UK driving licence required
