Learning Support Assistant – Gateshead
Location:GatesheadStart Date: September 2026Contract Type: Full-TimeDaily Rate: £90–£110 per day (depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work within welcoming and inclusive schools across Gateshead. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs and play a vital role in their academic, social, and emotional development.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning
- Support students in achieving both academically and socially
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Encourage confidence, independence, and participation in learning
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team
