About the role
Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Technician to work full time at our Bathgate workshop and be available for on call breakdowns as required on a rota basis.
Working alongside our 4 full time Technicians looking after our own fleet of vehicles and trailers and complete off site maintenance and servicing
Weekend work will be required on a rota basis
HGV Class 1 is an advantage
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure optimal performance.
Conduct routine maintenance checks, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tyre rotations.
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex problems and implement effective solutions.
Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
Adhere to safety regulations and best practices while working in the workshop.
Stay updated on industry advancements and technical manuals to enhance skills.
Qualifications
Relevant experience as an HGV Mechanic or in a similar role
Strong understanding of vehicle systems and diagnostics
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy goods vehicles
Relevant certifications in vehicle repair and maintenance
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £20.00-£23.12 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
