Electrician Improver

We are looking for an Electrical Improver to assist qualified electricians carrying out domestic rewires in occupied and vacant properties. The successful candidate will support all aspects of electrical installation work while maintaining high standards of workmanship, customer service, and health and safety.

Duties

• Assist electricians with full and partial domestic rewires.
• Chase walls, lift floorboards, and prepare cable routes.
• Install and secure wiring systems in accordance with current regulations.
• Fit back boxes, sockets, switches, consumer units, and lighting points.
• Assist with first-fix and second-fix electrical installations.
• Help with testing, inspection, and fault-finding works.
• Install smoke alarms, extractor fans, and other domestic electrical equipment.
• Carry out minor making-good works and ensure properties are left clean and tidy.
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and tenants.
• Follow all health and safety requirements and company procedures.
• Work to deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.

Experience

• 1-2 years' experience working on domestic electrical installations.
• Experience on at least several full or partial house rewires.
• Able to carry out first-fix wiring independently.
• Able to fit sockets, switches, pendants, downlights and accessories.
• Experience lifting floors, chasing walls and routing cables with minimal guidance.
• Familiar with ring finals, radial circuits, lighting circuits and cooker circuits.
• Basic understanding of BS 7671 requirements.
• Experience working safely in occupied homes.

Licence/Certification:

• ECS Card.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification.
• Experience assisting on domestic rewire projects.
• Basic understanding of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
