Secondary Teaching Assistant Location: DE5 Start Date: ASAP Contract: Long-Term | Term-Time Only Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday Daily Rate: £110-£115 Secondary Teaching Assistant | Derby (DE5) | Temp - Perm Contract | £110 - £115 | Support Students at a Crucial Time Long Term Futures is working with a high-achieving and supportive mainstream secondary school in the DE5 area to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students as they prepare for their GCSEs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and wants to make a meaningful impact during a critical stage in students' academic journeys. You will be working in a structured classroom environment, providing targeted support to help pupils achieve their full potential. The school has a strong specialism in supporting young people with Autism and Developmental Language Disorder. The school has a nationally recognised reputation for its expertise in autism and communication, offering a highly collaborative environment supported by a multidisciplinary team. The Role: Provide 1:1 and small group support during GCSE-focused lessons Support classroom teachers to differentiate materials and manage learning targets Work closely with SENCOs and subject leads to implement tailored academic interventions Help pupils stay engaged, manage workload pressures, and build confidence in core subjects like English, Maths, and Science Provide pastoral support and help students manage exam-related stress and anxiety What We're Looking For Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential) Previous experience working in a secondary school environment (desirable) Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a calm approach to support students facing academic pressure Confidence working with pupils who may have additional needs (SEN, SEMH, or low academic confidence) A proactive, can-do attitude and strong teamwork skills Why Join LTF Recruitment?
