Maths Tutor – Werrington RecruitmentJunky is recruiting on behalf of a well-established provider of prison education & rehabilitation services, and they're looking for a passionate Functional Skills Maths Tutor to join their education team at a young offenders' institution near Werrington. This is a genuinely rewarding opportunity to join a values-led organisation that supports learners on their rehabilitation journey and invests heavily in staff development. The Role You'll deliver City & Guilds Functional Skills Maths qualifications (Entry Level 1 to Level 2) to small groups of up to 12 learners with varied educational backgrounds and needs. Using adaptive teaching methods and digital resources, you'll conduct initial assessments, build Individual Learning Plans, and help learners build the skills and confidence needed to move into employment and turn their lives around. What They're Looking For * Level 3 qualification in Maths * Teaching qualification at Level 5+ (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one * Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths * Strong lesson planning and classroom management skills * Ability to adapt teaching to diverse learner needs * Excellent communication and administrative skills * A genuine commitment to safeguarding, equality and learner success Desirable: experience in prison/adult/further education, familiarity with BKSB diagnostics, and knowledge of Ofsted's EIF.
