We’re working with a highly respected engineering business that specialises in the design and manufacture of special purpose equipment for highly regulated market sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Junior Mechanical Development Engineer to join their Development team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Mechanical Development Engineer to be involved in the full product lifecycle—designing, developing and testing bespoke equipment used in demanding, high-specification environments. The RoleAs a Junior Mechanical Development Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of new and existing products, helping to expand the company’s offering and respond to evolving customer and regulatory requirements. Working from detailed project specifications, you will: Develop concepts and produce design solutions for new and modified equipment Create detailed engineering drawings for manufacture (in-house and subcontract) Support the build, assembly and testing of prototypes Carry out calculations, simulations and physical testing to validate designs Produce clear technical reports documenting performance and outcomesYou’ll work closely with multiple departments including Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales and Quality, as well as external suppliers and testing facilities. There may also be occasional site visits to support product application and validation.
