Principal Electrical Engineer

We are working with a leading engineering consultancy in the water sector that is looking to strengthen its team with an experienced Principal Electrical Design Engineer. This is a hybrid role based in the South East, offering a great mix of office and remote working.In this senior-level position, you’ll lead the electrical design process on complex water and wastewater treatment projects. You’ll play a critical role in delivering efficient, safe, and cost-effective solutions while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring coordination across multi-disciplinary teams.Key Responsibilities:• Lead the production of electrical design layouts and documentation for water infrastructure projects• Ensure designs are cost-effective, buildable, and compliant with relevant standards and health & safety requirements• Collaborate with mechanical, process, and civil engineering teams• Support project proposals and estimates• Drive process improvements and ensure technical quality• Contribute to staff development and departmental best practicesAbout You:• Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer with chartered status or working towards it• Strong experience in electrical design for water and wastewater treatment projects• Proven leadership experience in managing design teams• Excellent knowledge of multidisciplinary coordination in engineering projects• Skilled in presenting technical proposals and managing client expectations• Full UK driving licence requiredOnly those with proof of right to work in the UK should apply for this role. Apply today or get in touch with connie.farnes@alexander-assoc.co.uk
