Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting Secondary School Teachers for a range of positions, including long-term, short-term, and daily supply bookings across secondary schools in Birmingham and the surrounding areas. Location: Birmingham Position: Secondary School Teacher (KS3 & KS4) Contract/Position Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Daily and Long-Term Contract Type: Temporary Full Time/Part Time: Full Time Minimum Rate of Pay: Negotiable Hours: 8:20am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) Key Responsibilities Planning and Teaching: Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons within your specialist subject area across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring all students are supported to reach their full potential. Assessment and Tracking: Monitor student progress, assess attainment, and implement strategies to support both high-achieving students and those requiring additional intervention. Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-structured learning environment that promotes engagement, progress, and positive behaviour. Collaboration: Work closely with department colleagues, pastoral teams, SEN staff, and senior leaders to maintain high standards of teaching and learning. Student Support: Contribute to the wider development of students, supporting their academic achievement, well being, and personal growth. Experience, Training and Qualifications QTS and Experience: It is essential that you hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching within a secondary school setting, either in a permanent or supply capacity. Subject Knowledge: Strong curriculum knowledge within your specialist subject area. Safeguarding: Up-to-date Safeguarding training is essential. If you have not completed Safeguarding training within the last 12 months, Prospero Teaching can provide this free of charge. To Be Eligible for Any Job with Prospero Teaching, You Must: Hold Right to Work in the UK. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application. Provide two professional child-related references covering at least the last two years.
