About the role

Job Title: Head of Marketing & Business Development Location: Newport, South Wales Salary: £60,000 to £75,000 + bonus Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Sector: Renewable Energy / Manufacturing / Marketing The Role A senior, hands-on marketing and business development position reporting directly to the CEO. This is an SME and this role is for someone who wants to be at the sharp end of commercial activity — personally driving brand awareness, generating leads and winning business, not orchestrating others from a distance. You will own the full marketing and business development function, working alongside a Marketing and Brand Executive, and will be expected to operate with real autonomy. If you are looking for a role where you build strategy and hand execution to a team, this is not it. If you want genuine scope to shape a unique British manufacturer's commercial trajectory and see the direct results of your own effort, it is. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a marketing strategy from the ground up, ensuring every activity connects directly to sales pipeline and revenue. Build and execute campaigns across B2B and B2C markets, targeting architects, developers, specifiers, fleet operators, marine OEMs and vehicle manufacturers. Own the digital presence — website, SEO, LinkedIn and targeted digital campaigns — with a focus on lead generation and measurable commercial outcomes. Establish the business as the recognised technology leader in thin-film photovoltaic innovation, building brand credibility across key markets. Manage partner and distributor marketing, developing co-branded campaigns and joint go-to-market activity. Lead the business's presence at key industry events and trade exhibitions. Create the full suite of commercial materials — presentations, case studies, product launch content and customer-facing collateral. Implement a modern marketing technology stack including CRM integration, web analytics, automation tools and campaign attribution. Manage the marketing budget and report directly to the CEO on performance against agreed KPIs. What We Are Looking For Proven B2B and B2C marketing professional with senior-level experience. Strong digital marketing and brand expertise. Able to craft technically credible messaging for complex, engineered products. A self-starter who takes personal ownership and measures success in tangible results. Comfortable operating independently in an SME environment. A background in renewable energy, engineering, construction, technology or manufacturing is a significant advantage. Experience supporting international market development is also beneficial. Salary £60,000 to £75,000 depending on experience, plus bonus
