Job Description:


The Business Affairs Manager is responsible for all business affairs matters arising from the Product, Design & Marketing group in EMEIA, including ensuring that any third-party content featured in our products, platforms and services is properly licensed or commissioned, and is brand- and region-appropriate.


The ideal candidate will have extensive business affairs experience, including superb issue-spotting skills and a willingness to hit the ground running. This person must be detail-oriented, highly collaborative, and accustomed to working with both creative and legal teams, as well as having a deep understanding of the client's brand.


Key Responsibilities

  • Educate teams on legal, third-party content and brand considerations.
  • Assess, manage and communicate risks, and advise team leads on risk, exposure and strategic options.
  • Communicate potential issues to the Head of Business Affairs and Legal, as needed.
  • Work with third-party content licensors to secure consent and clear rights when referencing their assets.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with procedures and policies relating to vendors, talent, licensing and publishing.
  • Facilitate internal communication between teams to ensure projects continue to move forward, including flagging local legal issues, content constraints and timing considerations.
  • Work with multiple teams, providing legal perspective, advice and counsel on a wide variety of matters, including trade marks and copyright.


Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years' business affairs experience, ideally within the technology sector.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Apple technology (iPhone, iPad, apps, Mac, etc.), as well as familiarity with our services, including Apple Music, the App Store (specifically the Today tab), the Apple TV app, and other Products and Services.
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to prioritise, and a sense of humour.
  • Sound strategic, legal and business judgement in challenging situations.
  • A team player with excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Pragmatic legal and brand judgement.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Keynote, Numbers and Pages; familiarity with Quip.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
