Team Leader – Children’s Residential Care

🕒 Full-Time | Shift-Based (including evenings, weekends & sleep-ins if required)
Lead and inspire a team supporting children and young people in a therapeutic residential setting
We are recruiting a Team Leader for a children’s residential home (Ofsted regulated) supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties linked to trauma, neglect, and adverse childhood experiences.
This is a key leadership role within a dedicated care team, helping to ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and positive outcomes for children and young people.
🔑 The Role:
* Lead shifts within a children’s residential home ensuring safe, consistent care delivery
* Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with day-to-day operations
* Supervise, guide, and support residential support workers
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards, safeguarding, and care regulations
* Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
* Promote a therapeutic, child-centred approach at all times
* Maintain accurate records, handovers, and incident reporting
* Support positive routines, boundaries, and emotional development for young people
✅ What We’re Looking For:
* NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (essential)
* Minimum 1 year experience in children’s residential care (Ofsted regulated preferred)
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations
* Experience working with trauma, EBD, or challenging behaviour
* Confident leader with good communication and organisational skills
* Ability to manage incidents calmly and professionally
* Flexible approach to shift work including evenings and weekends
