About the role
Facilities Assistant
We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities Assistant/Cleaner to help ensure
our offices are always clean, safe, and welcoming for staff and visitors. You’ll play an
important role in maintaining the daily operations of the factory and supporting a positive
working environment.
This is a part-time, office-based position that could fit perfectly around school hours,
family commitments, or another part-time role. We are looking for someone who takes
pride in their work and would enjoy being part of a fun, vibrant workplace. Working
alongside around 30 engineers, production staff, software teams, and management, you
will be the dependable extra pair of hands that helps keep everything moving.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning and Hygiene
• Follow an agreed workplan
• Ensuring all offices, and communal areas are kept clean, safe, and tidy
• Undertaking cleaning duties to required standards as needed
• Supporting waste minimisation and recycling initiatives
• Undertaking deep cleaning when requested
• Providing facilities support to the team where necessary
• Maintaining and organising business premises as requested
• Become a key member of staff aiding our teams in a comfortable and productive
environment
Health, Safety, and Compliance
• Follow all relevant policies and procedures, including those related to health,
safety, and security
• Report any hazards, defects, or maintenance issues promptly
Day to Day Responsibilities
• Carry out duties in a professional and courteous manner at all times
• Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the level of the post as
required by the Head of Resources
• Help prepare and provide refreshments for visitors, meetings, and events
• Clean, refill, and carry out routine day-to-day care of the coffee machine, following
the manufacturer’s instructions
• Monitor stocks of coffee, tea, milk, sugar, and other kitchen essentials, and arrange
replenishment before supplies run low
• Keep kitchen and refreshment areas clean, tidy, and ready for use throughout the
day
• Check milk dates and other perishable refreshment supplies regularly, disposing of
and replacing items when needed
• Wash, dry, and put away cups, glasses, and refreshment equipment after use
• Prepare meeting rooms and visitor areas when required, ensuring they are tidy and
refreshments are available
• Monitor and organise cleaning and facilities supplies so the items needed for daily
tasks are readily available
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has previous experience in a similar role or is keen to learn
• Is organised, dependable, and pays close attention to detail
• Has good communication and interpersonal skills
• Works positively and flexibly within a team
We are looking for 15–20 hours per week, ideally spread across the working week in short,
regular visits. The emphasis is on being here little and often to keep on top of the daily
details, rather than completing one longer clean each week and leaving the team to
manage in between. The schedule can be agreed to fit around school hours, term-time
commitments, or your wider lifestyle, while still providing the reliable daily support the
workplace needs.
