Plumber (Heating pumps)

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Plumber / Heating Engineer specializing in or looking to transition into Renewable Heating Systems to join our growing team. Based in Reading, you will be responsible for installing air source heat pumps (ASHPs) and associated domestic central heating systems for residential properties across Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

Installation: Install air source heat pumps, cylinders, radiators, and associated pipework in residential homes.

System Commissioning: Commission and test heating systems to ensure maximum efficiency, compliance, and performance.

Customer Service: Provide friendly, professional advice to homeowners on how to operate their new renewable heating systems.

Quality & Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to building regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company health and safety standards.

Travel: Cover jobs within a 30 to 40-mile radius of Reading, ensuring timely arrivals and professional representation on-site.

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications: NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent).

Experience: Proven experience in domestic plumbing and central heating installations.

Renewables (Preferred): Previous experience with air source heat pumps (ASHPs), unvented hot water cylinders, or a relevant qualification (e.g., MCS, LCL Awards Heat Pump course) is a major plus, though full training/upskilling can be provided for the right candidate.

Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (essential).

Work Ethic: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team
