Mechanical Inspector

Contract Type: Initial 6-month contract, with potential extension Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 16:00 Pay Rate: Up to £18.00 per hour (dependent on experience) The Role Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join their quality team on an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This role focuses on the inspection and measurement of medium to high-complexity component piece parts within a precision engineering environment. The position is ideally suited to inspectors with experience in a sub-contract manufacturing environment, where a diverse range of components and tight tolerances are common. Key Responsibilities Inspect medium to high-complexity mechanical component piece parts Carry out dimensional inspection to engineering drawings and specifications Use manual inspection equipment including vernier calipers and other measuring instruments Conduct a small amount of CMM inspection where required Ensure all inspected components meet quality and customer requirements Accurately record inspection results and report non-conformances Requirements Proven experience as a Mechanical Inspector, ideally within a sub-contract manufacturing environment Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances Confident using manual inspection equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) Some exposure to CMM inspection preferred High attention to detail and quality-focused mindset Ability to work independently and to deadlines What's on Offer Competitive hourly pay up to £18.00 per hour Day shift, Monday to Friday working pattern Opportunity to work with a reputable manufacturing business Potential for contract extension based on performance and workloadIf you're an experienced Mechanical Inspector looking for your next contract opportunity, apply today to be considered
