RecruitME is recruiting a Mechanical Estimator for an established Mechanical, Electrical and Construction contractor delivering projects across the UK, with significant experience in Defence, Ministry of Justice and secure environments.

You'll join an experienced estimating team, preparing competitive mechanical building services tenders from initial enquiry through to project handover.

With more than two decades in the industry, in-house design capabilities and its own off-site manufacturing facility, this business offers the technical support and delivery expertise to turn well-developed tenders into successful projects.

Your role

You'll price mechanical building services packages covering HVAC, heating, ventilation, plumbing and public health systems, working closely with design, commercial and delivery teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Completing material take-offs and building accurate labour, plant and subcontractor costs.
• Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Preparing tender submissions, pricing schedules and clarifications.
• Identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities.
• Exploring off-site fabrication and modular solutions to improve cost, programme and quality.
• Managing tender deadlines and handing successful bids over to project teams.

The contractor's preferred individual project size is around £7m, with capacity to deliver larger packages.

What we're looking for

• Experience as a Mechanical Estimator, Senior Mechanical Estimator or M&E Estimator, with a strong mechanical services background.
• At least five years' construction industry experience.
• Proven experience in mechanical estimating, tender preparation and take-offs.
• Sound knowledge of HVAC, heating, ventilation and plumbing systems.
• Confidence interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail and deadline management.
• Microsoft Office skills and a full UK driving licence.

Experience with Amtech or Trimble estimating software, MOD/MOJ projects, electrical building services or general construction would be beneficial.
