🏡 About the Setting
A specialist therapeutic education and residential setting near Bracknell is looking for a Sports Coach & Behaviour Mentor to join their dedicated team.
Supporting young people who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), many of whom have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The provision takes a therapeutic, relationship-led approach to behaviour intervention, helping young people develop confidence, resilience and positive life skills.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates in Sport, Psychology, Criminology, Education or Youth Work, or for anyone considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, youth justice, social work or mental health.
🎯 The Role
As a Sports Coach & Behaviour Mentor, you will:
Deliver engaging sports, physical activity and enrichment sessions that encourage teamwork, confidence and resilience.
Build positive, trusting relationships with young people through consistent mentoring and role modelling.
Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development both in and outside the classroom.
Encourage participation, motivation and self-esteem through sport and physical activity.
Work alongside education and therapeutic teams to deliver targeted behaviour interventions and provide consistent support tailored to each young person's needs.
Help create a safe, structured and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
👤 Person Specification
Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people.
Background in Sport, Coaching, PE, Psychology, Criminology, Youth Work or Education (or relevant experience).
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Calm, resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour.
Positive role model with a proactive, energetic approach.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
