Role: PCB Assembler / Electronics Production Technician Location: Letchworth Garden City, SG6 Hours: Full time – flexible hours between 7:00am and 10:00pm (weekend availability highly desirable) Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 DOE An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a PCB Assembler / Electronics Production Technician to join our client’s successful and growing team. Our client is a well-established Contract Electronics Manufacturer (CEM) specialising in high-quality PCB assemblies and electronic sub-assemblies across a range of industries. They are known for their friendly, supportive and relaxed working environment, offering a less pressurised alternative to larger high-volume manufacturing sites while still maintaining excellent quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working within electronics manufacturing who is looking for a more varied, hands-on role within a close-knit and highly skilled team. Candidates with SMT, AOI or SMT machine operating/programming experience will be highly desirable and may attract a higher salary level depending on experience. Benefits: • Competitive salary depending on experience and skill level • Flexible working hours • Friendly and supportive team environment • Stable, long-term opportunity within a growing company • Opportunity to develop SMT, AOI and wider electronics production skills • Overtime and weekend work opportunities available • Ongoing training and development Duties of a PCB Assembler / Electronics Production Technician: • Assemble PCBs to IPC-A-610 Class 2 and 3 standards • Carry out high-quality through-hole/conventional soldering with speed and accuracy • Conduct visual inspection of PCBAs to ensure quality standards are met • Test assembled circuit boards and identify faults where required • Carry out PCB rework, repair and component replacement • Complete electronic sub-assemblies and box build work where required • Follow technical drawings, assembly instructions and production documentation accurately • Maintain accurate production records and quality standards • Work within company quality management systems and procedures • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment • Support continuous improvement initiatives across production processes Desirable additional skills: • SMT soldering, rework and component replacement • AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) machine operation • SMT machinery setup, operation or programming • Previous experience within a Contract Electronics Manufacturer (CEM) environment What we would like from you: • Previous PCB assembly or electronics manufacturing experience • Proven through-hole soldering experience to IPC-A-610 Class 2/3 standards • Excellent soldering skills with strong attention to detail • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and circuit diagrams • Experience with PCB inspection, testing and rework • Ability to identify electronic components and place them accurately • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination • Ability to work accurately and efficiently to production targets • Strong concentration and ability to follow written instructions • Reliable, motivated and team-oriented approach • Candidates confident completing a high-quality soldering test within 45 minutes are highly encouraged to apply • Flexibility to work weekends would be highly advantageous This role would suit: • An Electronics Assembler, PCB Technician or Electronics Production Operative currently working within a CEM • Someone experienced in through-hole soldering looking for a less pressurised working environment • A candidate with SMT or AOI experience looking to expand their technical responsibilities • An electronics manufacturing professional who takes pride in quality workmanship and attention to detail If you are interested in this role, please apply below with your most recent CV.
