Experienced SENCo - Specialist Autism School (New Forest) Fixed Term - Until End of Academic Year Full‑Time or Part‑Time Options Available Prospero Teaching is proud to be supporting a warm, nurturing specialist school in the New Forest, seeking an experienced SENCo to join their dedicated team. The school supports children and young people from Primary through to Secondary, with pupil need predominantly centred around Autism, alongside additional needs such as communication differences, sensory processing needs, anxiety, ADHD, and social‑emotional challenges. This is a meaningful opportunity for an experienced SENCo who is passionate about autism‑informed practice and wants to contribute to a calm, relationship‑centred environment where every pupil is understood, valued, and supported to thrive. Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Fixed Term (until end of academic year) - Full‑Time or Part‑Time Salary: MPS/UPS About the Role As SENCo, you will play a central role in shaping and strengthening the school's inclusive and autism‑specialist provision. You will: Lead the development and delivery of the school's SEND strategy Coordinate provision for pupils with autism and additional needs, ensuring personalised support and measurable progress Work closely with teachers, support staff, therapists, and external agencies to implement effective, autism‑informed interventions Oversee EHCPs, referrals, and statutory reviews, ensuring compliance and high‑quality documentation Provide training, coaching, and guidance to staff to promote inclusive, trauma‑informed, and autism‑specialist practice Champion a whole‑school approach to wellbeing, communication, sensory regulation, and personalised learning pathwaysThis role is ideal for someone who brings experience, warmth, and a reflective approach to supporting pupils with complex needs.
