Trainee Automatic Door Engineer Location: Field-based Surrey / South London Ideal Candidate Location: Redhill and surrounding areas Salary: £14.00 £15.00 per hour + overtime Overtime: Paid at 1.5x Travel: Door-to-door pay On-Call: NO on-call rota Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Looking to start a career as an Automatic Door Engineer? TSM Technical is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business within the commercial entrance and access industry. We are looking for a Trainee Automatic Door Engineer to join their field-based engineering team. The ideal candidate will be based around the Redhill area or within reasonable travelling distance , although you do not need to be based in Redhill specifically. Previous automatic door experience is not essential , as full industry training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically or electrically minded and wants to develop a long-term career within a specialist engineering industry. You'll receive hands-on training across the full lifecycle of automatic door systems, including installation, servicing, maintenance, breakdowns, fault finding and repairs . What You'll Be Doing Working alongside experienced engineers while completing your training, you'll develop the skills required to become a fully competent Automatic Door Engineer. Your role will include: Supply and installation of automatic door systems Planned servicing and preventative maintenance Attending breakdowns and reactive repairs Fault finding and diagnostics Mechanical and electrical repairs Working across a variety of commercial customer sites Completing service and job documentation Learning relevant industry standards and safe working practices Developing your mechanical and electrical knowledge through practical, hands-on training Who We're Looking For You don't need previous automatic door experience. We're particularly interested in candidates who are: Mechanically or electrically minded Comfortable using hand and power tools Practical and good at problem-solving Keen to learn a skilled technical trade Reliable and able to work independently once trained Professional and confident dealing with customers Looking for a long-term engineering career Experience within electrical, mechanical, maintenance, installation, engineering, security systems, access control, gates, barriers, shutters, construction or another hands-on technical environment would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
