KS1 Teaching Assistant (Full Time) Location: Totton Start Date:  May 2026-July 2026 Contract: Short-Term (potentially permanent) Institution: EYFS and KS1  Pay: £85-£92  per day  About the Role We are seeking an experienced EYFS and KS1 Learning Support Assistant for a well regarding school in Totton. The school is a medium sized primary school on the border of the picturesque New Forest. Utilising the outdoors for education, exploration and to engage curiosity is a key part of the schools philosophy for KS1 and EYFS children. About the School The school has a strong reputation for excellent provision for EYFS children, high expectations for behaviour and academic success.  The staff are dedicated to ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed, achieve and thrive. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support and small group work support Assist small groups of students in accessing lessons and structured activities. Adapt learning materials and approaches to meet individual needs. Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interactions. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to implement personalised learning plans. Monitor progress and maintain accurate records. Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all learners. Requirements Previous experience supporting EYFS and KS1 children in their first steps of education Strong understanding of trauma, SEMH and associated learning/behavioural needs. Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people. Excellent communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents. Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality practices. Enhanced DBS check (support available if required). Benefits Competitive salary (£85 – £92 per day, depending on experience).
