About the role
We are currently looking to recruit a HGV Fitter.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the on-going repair and maintenance to our fleet of vehicles and trailers.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete all defect repairs, fault diagnosis and maintenance, as is necessary, to ensure all vehicles, trailers & equipment are kept in a safe working condition.
Preparation of vehicles and trailers for annual MOT inspection.
Carry out periodic safety inspections on all vehicles & trailers to ensure they meet DVSA inspection standards.
Attend breakdowns and accidents as required and carry out on-site diagnostics and repairs.
Complete all paperwork clearly, accurately & in a timely fashion. This will include Job cards (work description, parts & times), various types of inspection forms (vehicles, trailers, and equipment)
Always adhere to all workplace health and safety standards (including the wearing of appropriate PPE) and ensure compliance with any regulatory body regulations and standards, including the maintenance of equipment and tools
The ideal candidate will have -
A minimum of 2 years' experience and hold a City & Guilds or NVQ level 2 or 3 accreditation.
Knowledge of HGV systems, engines, and mechanical components.
Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and diagrams.
A category C or C+E driving licence.

Pay: From £18.00 per hour
