About the role
Production Junior Sous Chef
Padella Production Kitchen | Shoreditch, London
We're looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join the team behind Padella's award-winning fresh pasta restaurants.
We love good food, and we love making it. From beautiful seasonal British and Italian produce to the traditional techniques behind our fresh pasta, there's a great deal of care, knowledge and skill that goes into what we do.
Our Production Kitchen is where much of it begins. Every day, our chefs prepare fresh pasta for our restaurants, working with ingredients and recipes we genuinely believe in.
We're looking for someone who loves cooking as much as we do. Someone who enjoys working with good ingredients, takes pride in what they make and wants to share that enthusiasm with the people around them.
Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the daily running of Padella's Production Kitchen.
Oversee fresh pasta preparation and food production, ensuring quality, consistency and attention to detail.
Work with seasonal British and Italian ingredients, following Padella's recipes and traditional cooking techniques.
Lead, train and support Chefs de Partie and Kitchen Porters, sharing knowledge and encouraging teamwork.
Help organise daily production, delegate tasks and ensure everything runs smoothly.
Support stock control, ordering requirements, waste management and kitchen efficiency.
Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP procedures.
Take responsibility for the kitchen as the senior chef on duty when required.
We're looking for an experienced Junior Sous Chef who enjoys working with great ingredients and understands the importance of consistency, organisation and teamwork in a production kitchen.
You'll bring:
Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef in a quality-focused kitchen, ideally with experience in food production.
Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage daily production efficiently.
A disciplined approach to following recipes and maintaining consistent standards.
The confidence to lead, support and develop a team.
A reliable, hands-on approach and a genuine interest in fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Above all, we're looking for someone who understands that a production kitchen has its own rhythm and challenges, and takes pride in getting things right, every day.
