About the role
Equipment Engineer – Livingston, West Lothian
Type: Onsite, Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)
Security Clearance Requirements: Baseline. Must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Repair, maintenance and calibration/verification of equipment within the manufacturing areas
- Experience of environmental test chambers
- Active participation in cell layout design, installation and compliance
- Take a lead role in equipment engineering problem solving, demonstrating a proactive and continuous improvement approach to maximise availability, predictability and performance of manufacturing systems
- Analysis and improvement of manufacturing processes and operating efficiencies
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to other engineers and technicians
- Assist in the department training and development plans, and provide cross training for engineers and technicians
- Demonstrate good communication skills and accurately document work undertaken to provide traceability and history of work
- Participate in the planning, installation, commissioning and qualification of new equipment
- Conform and supervise conformance to all company/statutory safety regulations and practices
- Be flexible with respect to shift rotation and overtime to support the needs of manufacturing
- Must be production oriented, comfortable with changing circumstances and able to cope with a demanding workload
- Support 24*7 call‑out rota
Qualifications
- HND in a related engineering discipline with at least five years experience in equipment engineering
- Demonstrate accountability for equipment/process performance
- Good communicator with effective communication skills
- Technical knowledge of relevant equipment and processes
- Ability to plan and prioritise work using a Maintenance Management System
- Flexibility to work shifts if required
- Team player, able to work unsupervised or as a team member
- Customer focused with a “Can do attitude”
