As part of our CP7 Buildings Asset Management (BAM) framework, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing rail building assets across the North West & Central region within a long-term, secure contract environment.

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team in Warrington, supporting a high-volume programme of reactive, planned and minor works across Network Rail assets.
This is a key leadership role within the commercial function, offering the opportunity to take ownership of commercial performance across projects, influence decision-making and support the development of junior team members.
You’ll be working in a fast-paced framework environment, managing multiple workstreams including station facilities, structures, and asset repairs and renewals.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take a leading role in delivering commercial success across the framework:
Commercial Leadership & Financial Control
- Take full responsibility for the commercial management of assigned projects, ensuring profitability and contractual compliance
- Prepare and present applications for payment, CVRs, forecasts and final accounts, ensuring contractual entitlement is maximised
- Manage cost performance, cash flow and financial reporting at project and framework level
Framework & Project Delivery
- Support delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to budget
- Manage variations, compensation events, early warnings and contractual notices
- Provide commercial input into programme and delivery strategy
Subcontractor & Supply Chain Management
- Lead the procurement, negotiation and management of subcontractors, through to final account settlement
- Ensure robust performance, value for money and strong supply chain relationships
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners and internal stakeholders
- Act as a key commercial point of contact across the framework
Leadership & Development
- Support and mentor Quantity Surveyors, Assistant QS and Trainees within the team
- Contribute to a high-performing commercial function through leadership and collaboration
About You
We’re looking for a confident and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor who thrives in a dynamic, project-based environment.
You will bring:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, rail or construction
- Strong experience managing multiple projects and commercial outputs independently
- A solid understanding of NEC or Network Rail forms of contract
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC/HND/Degree)
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
- A proactive approach to risk management, problem-solving and continuous improvement
