Mobile HGV Technician £48,000–£50,000 Basic + Overtime (1.5x) + Door-to-Door Pay This is a mobile, home-based field service role covering customer sites across Essex and East London, north of the River Thames. Candidates should live within the territory and have good access to the M25, A12, A13, M11, A127, A120 or A130 road networks. Key areas include Romford, Brentwood, Basildon, Grays, Chelmsford, Harlow, Southend, Braintree, Colchester and surrounding locations. The position is paid door-to-door, meaning technicians are paid from the time they leave home until they return home. Working Hours * 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday * Overtime paid at 1.5x * 1-in-9 out-of-hours call-out rota with standby allowance and overtime for attended call-outs Key Responsibilities for the Mobile HGV Technician * Carry out servicing, maintenance and inspections of commercial vehicles. * Diagnose faults and complete repairs. * Attend breakdowns and roadside repairs. * Work on tippers, tipper grabs, asphalt hotboxes and vehicles from 7.2 to 32-tonne GVM. * Travel to customer sites using a fully equipped service van. * Use the R2C workshop management system (training provided if required). Requirements * Full UK Driving Licence * Class 2 HGV Licence (desirable) * NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent HGV qualification * Experience maintaining and repairing HGVs/commercial vehicles Benefits * £48,000–£50,000 basic salary * Door-to-door pay * Overtime at 1.5x * Fully equipped service van * Fuel card and mobile phone * Branded uniform * Pension * In-house training * 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays (28 days total) About the Company Our client is a family-owned specialist commercial vehicle hire business with over 45 years of experience, operating from Wolverhampton (HQ), Sevenoaks, Taunton, Plean and Belfast, supplying specialist vehicles to the Utility, Civil Engineering and Highway Maintenance sectors.
