Disrepair Surveyor

Interim Disrepair Surveyor South London £300 – £350 per day (Umbrella) A South London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Interim Disrepair Surveyor to join a busy, high-profile Disrepair Team.  Reporting to the Disrepair Manager, you will take ownership of disrepair cases from inspection through to completion, ensuring works are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities: Undertake property inspections to diagnose disrepair issues and specify remedial works Raise works orders and manage contractors through to completion Carry out pre-inspections, work-in-progress inspections, and post-completion checks Project manage disrepair works, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales and budgets Monitor contractor performance and ensure quality standards are met Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations Act as a key point of contact for tenants, providing clear communication and support throughout works Coordinate and oversee temporary decants where required Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including Legal and Tenancy teams   We are looking for a proactive and technically strong surveyor who can manage a varied caseload in a fast-paced environment. Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience in property maintenance or building surveying Strong technical knowledge of building defects and repairs Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation within property maintenance Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organisational and project management abilities Commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets effectively Full UK driving licence Desirable: Previous experience in disrepair (training can be provided) Experience within the Social Housing sector Background in managing major repairs or planned works
