Location: Minehead, Somerset
Salary: £19,813.62 £21,599.47 per year (£12.87 £14.03 p/h), depending on experience & qualifications
Contract: Permanent, Part Time
Working Pattern: 32 hours per week, term time plus additional days/training (42 weeks per year)
Additional Pay: Sleep?ins paid at £65 per shift
Shift Work: Required, including alternate weekends
About the setting:
A specialist college and training hotel supports young people with learning disabilities to become work ready and life ready, with a strong focus on developing skills for the hospitality sector. Students learn across residential houses, classrooms, and a working training hotel, gaining real world experience in a supportive and inspiring environment. The team is passionate about empowering young adults to build confidence, independence, and meaningful futures.
As a Learning Support Practitioner (LSP), you will support students across residential, classroom, and hospitality training environments. Your work will directly contribute to helping young people develop independence, life skills, and sustainable employment opportunities.
Shift patterns include: 7:00am 3:00pm
2:00pm 10:00pm
10:00am 6:00pm Shifts run on a two?week rota and include alternate weekends. xwzovoh
Key Responsibilities Encourage high expectations and support students to reach their full potential
Support learning under the guidance of House Managers and Tutors
Assist with behaviour management in a professional, consistent manner
Work collaboratively with tutors to create a positive learning environment
Promote essential life skills including cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, communication, teamwork, and self?advocacy
Provide 1:1 support where required, monitoring progress and independence
What Were Looking For Experience in a similar role is desirable, but full training is provided
Background in care or education is an advantage
Willingness to work a rota including alternate weekends
Understanding of working with individuals with disabilities is desirable
Level 2 English and Maths desirable
Level 3 qualification in education or care desirable
Full UK driving licence desirable
