SEN Primary Outreach Tutor Location: Barking and Dagenham About the Role Prospero Teaching is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Primary Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 educational support to primary-aged pupils who are currently not accessing mainstream education. This role involves planning and delivering tailored learning programmes designed to re‑engage pupils, address gaps in learning, and rebuild confidence. Most pupils will have Special Educational Needs and may have been out of education for an extended period, so patience, adaptability, and a nurturing approach are essential. This position is ideal for a qualified teacher or tutor who is looking to step away from the classroom environment and focus on personalised, rewarding teaching that makes a direct impact on a child's educational journey. Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor pupil progress and provide ongoing support to ensure positive outcomes. Contract & Position Details Location: Barking and Dagenham Position: SEN Primary Outreach Tutor Type of Work: Temporary contract Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing, dependent on individual pupil needs Working Pattern: Part-time or full-time (flexible based on availability) Pay Rate: From £25 per hour Session Length: Minimum of 1 hour, up to a maximum of 3 hours per session Experience, Training & Qualifications QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS qualification, or equivalent Minimum of 6 months' experience working in a UK school Experience supporting pupils with SEN (highly desirable) Up-to-date Safeguarding training (preferred but not essential) To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must: Have the Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one Provide two professional, child-related references covering the last two years What Prospero Teaching Can Offer: Competitive hourly pay Accredited CPD courses, including safeguarding and behaviour management Support from a dedicated in-house Training and Development Team Ongoing guidance and monitoring throughout placements Interested?
