About the Role
You will:
Take responsibility for the planning, delivery and development of mathematics across the senior school.
Secure high standards of teaching, learning and assessment in line with school policies and procedures.
As the lead specialist teacher of mathematics, the postholder will work closely with senior leaders to drive standards, monitor progress and contribute to the school's wider improvement strategy.
Help create a calm, safe, and structured environment that promotes confidence, independence, and learning.
What you'll bring
We are looking for someone who:
Strong subject knowledge and high-quality classroom practice
Confidence to lead a subject area independently and take ownership of curriculum and outcomes
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Strong assessment, tracking and organisational skills
Effective communication skills with pupils, parents and colleagues
Ability to reflect on practice and implement positive change
Experience of teaching mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4
Experience of preparing pupils for GCSE Mathematics
Evidence of securing good pupil progress and examination outcome
A good honours degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
