The Opportunity :

This is a hands-on, generalist HR role with genuine scope to make an impact across The PrettyGreen Group.

You’ll lead our day-to-day HR operations and be the first point of contact for most managers and employees on people-related matters. You’ll provide trusted, practical advice across employee relations, performance management, policies, employment legislation, organisational change and the wider employee lifecycle.

You’ll help us deliver a consistently positive employee experience while ensuring our people practices remain fair, compliant and commercially focused.

The role is four days per week, with flexibility over how those days are worked. We operate a hybrid working model, with a minimum of approximately 40% of your time, usually two days per week, spent in our London office. Plus, occasional travel to our Cheltenham office.

The Role:

Employee relations and case management

  • Lead and manage the majority of employee relations matters across the Group, working alongside our Group Talent Director.
  • Advise on disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and flexible working cases.
  • Support managers to resolve employee issues fairly, consistently and effectively.
  • Manage complex and sensitive cases with professionalism, empathy and discretion.
  • Support organisational change, restructures and consultation processes when required.
  • Ensure cases are managed in line with UK employment legislation and company policies.

HR business partnering

  • Build strong and trusted relationships with the board and team leaders across the Group.
  • Coach managers on people management best practice.
  • Advise the Board and Senior Leadership Team on employee engagement, performance, development and retention.
  • Help identify and address people-related risks and challenges.
  • Balance the needs of our people with the commercial priorities of the business.

Performance and talent management

  • Lead and coordinate performance management processes across the Group.
  • Support managers with post-probation performance conversations, objective setting, capability processes and development planning.
  • Help maintain fair and consistent performance standards across our agencies.
  • Work with the Group Talent Director on succession planning, talent reviews, career development and people planning.

HR operations and compliance

  • Own and maintain our HR policies and procedures.
  • Lead the annual review of employee handbooks and employment contracts.
  • Keep up to date with UK employment legislation, upcoming legal changes and HR best practice.
  • Manage our HR system, employee records, workflows and reporting.
  • Ensure people data and documentation are accurate, confidential and compliant.
  • Produce meaningful HR reports, people metrics and management information.
  • Support internal audits, mandatory training and wider compliance requirements.

Employee lifecycle, benefits and reward

  • Manage employee changes, including promotions, transfers and contractual amendments.
  • Administer employee benefits and wellbeing programmes.
  • Act as the main point of contact for benefits-related questions.
  • Ensure employee changes are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Lead offboarding processes and exit interviews.
  • Identify themes and trends from exit data and employee feedback.
  • Help create a positive and professional experience throughout the employee lifecycle.

Recruitment and People projects

  • Provide recruitment support to the Group Talent Director during exceptionally busy periods; recruitment should account for no more than approximately 20% of the role.
  • Lead and support People & Culture projects and initiatives.
  • Review and improve HR policies, processes and systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve employee experience and operational efficiency.
  • Support business integration and organisational change.
  • Contribute to the continued development of our People & Culture function.

Who You Are:

We’re looking for someone who combines sound HR knowledge with good judgement, empathy and a pragmatic approach.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Significant HR generalist experience within a fast-paced, commercial environment.
  • Strong employee relations experience, including independently managing complex cases.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law, upcoming legislative changes and HR best practice.
  • Experience advising and coaching managers at all levels.
  • Experience managing HR operations, policies, processes and compliance.
  • Experienced in working with HiBob or similar HR platforms
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and board-level stakeholder-management skills.
  • The ability to balance commercial priorities with a fair and positive employee experience.
  • CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification, or equivalent experience.

Experience within a creative, media, communications or professional-services environment would be particularly valuable, as would experience of organisational change, integration or transformation projects.

Practical experience of HiBob is strongly preferred, as we have recently moved to the platform and would love someone who can help us get the most from it.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

At PrettyGreen, we’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels they belong.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and identities. If you require any adjustments or additional support at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know we’ll be very happy to help.
