Swift Temps are recruiting for an experienced Site Supervisor to join a busy automotive operation in Darlaston.
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of inspection and containment activities on-site, leading a team of inspectors and acting as the key link between the inspection team, management and the customer.
The Role Your responsibilities will include:
Leading daily inspection and containment activities on-site
Allocating inspectors to jobs based on workload, priority and skills
Ensuring inspections are completed accurately and within customer deadlines
Managing shift handovers and maintaining continuity across shifts
Responding quickly to urgent quality issues and potential line stoppages
Checking inspection results and documentation for accuracy
Identifying defects, trends and recurring quality issues
Supporting containment, sorting and rework activities
Acting as the main on-site contact for customer representatives
Providing regular updates on job progress, issues and results
Supervising, supporting and motivating the inspection team
Conducting shift briefings and toolbox talks
Monitoring attendance, timekeeping and performance
Managing staffing levels, shift schedules, overtime and workload
Completing daily reports and maintaining accurate records
Monitoring KPIs including productivity, quality and defect rates
Ensuring all site, health & safety and PPE requirements are followed
Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and quality
About You We're looking for someone with:
At least 2 years' supervisory/team leader experience
4 years' experience within quality inspection
At least 2 years' automotive experience
Experience working within a manufacturing, automotive xwzovoh or quality inspection environment
A good understanding of inspection processes and quality standards
Strong communication and organisational skills
The ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment
Experience managing and supporting a team
A valid FLT licence
SAP experience would be advantageous
This is a hands-on supervisory role, so you'll need to be comfortable getting involved on the shop floor, dealing with customers and responding quickly when priorities change.
