About the role

Closing Date for Application:Thursday 17/09/2026We are looking for an experienced SystemsOperations Engineer to support, optimise and evolve our core systems, platforms and cloud services.This is a hands‑on role focused on maintaining high system performance, minimising downtime and ensuring operational excellence across a complex IT estate. You’ll act as a senior technical resolver, supporting day‑to‑day operations while contributing to continuous improvement, system design and operational projects.You’ll work closely with Service Desk, Desktop Support, project teams and third‑party suppliers, taking ownership of issues through to resolution and ensuring services are secure, resilient and well‑documented.Key Responsibilities Provide expert support and optimisation for core systems, platforms and cloud servicesAct as an escalation point for complex system incidents and problems, owning issues through to resolutionAnalyse existing systems and recommend improvements to enhance performance, resilience and efficiencyAuthor and maintain high‑quality technical documentation covering current and future system designsEnsure systems are maintained, patched and updated in line with best practiceMeet SLAs for support, request fulfilment and change deliverySupport operational projects, owning assigned tasks and deliverablesEnsure systems are secure by design and compliant with organisational policiesProduce reports and audits to evidence effective system managementAbout youStrong experience supporting Microsoft Cloud environments, including M365, Azure and Active DirectoryExperience with cloud and SaaS platforms, including security, identity, email and collaboration servicesKnowledge of on‑premises infrastructure including Windows Server, VMware and storage technologiesMethodical, analytical and highly organisedComfortable working under broad direction and taking ownership of complex issuesStrong communicator able to work effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholdersProactive, adaptable and committed to continuous learning and improvementLocation: Leeds or DoncasterOur BenefitsEntitled to 25 days holidayHoliday purchase schemePension contribution matched up to 8%Save as you earn Genuit Sharesave schemeHere at the Genuit Group we recognise and develop the contribution our people make to the Group’s success and are committed to attracting talent from the widest pool.
